Our Services

In 1984, the Federal Trade Commission began regulating the way funeral homes disclose their service charges.  A General Price List is required to be given to anyone who requests price information in person.  A funeral home is also required to provide price information over the phone to anyone requesting it.  However, no funeral home is required to disclose its prices online.  We are not salesmen or consultants, we are funeral professionals, here to answer the questions you may have in arranging a funeral.

The greatest factors determining cost are the time spent by us and the use of our facilities. We are available to serve you 24 hours a day, every day. Our costs include a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs, such as wages, taxes, maintenance, supplies, advertising, utilities, insurance, upkeep and operation of a preparation room and funeral facility, licenses and continuing education requirements and inventory.  We spend a great amount of time on conferences with family, filing of paperwork, obituaries, coordinating the funeral, visitation, transporting equipment to place of service, care and handling of flowers, operation of hearse and service vehicle, and much more.

When comparing prices with other funeral homes, you should be certain you know the facts about prices, don’t just assume what our competitors say about us is correct.  We don’t utilize funeral packaging, becaue each family is different and each family has a choice of everything we offer.  Also make certain you are comparing like merchandise and services, not just the total price.  Some of our past customers have stated our prices are very comparable and sometimes less expensive.  It is important to remember that all funeral homes are not the same, every family must decide what qualities they desire in the funeral directors they want to serve their needs.  Our testimonials section may be useful to be the judge of our character.

The price of a funeral or cremation service can vary widely in any given market.  Here at Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary, we recognize that we may not be the least expensive funeral and cremation provider.  With the level of service, the quality of our facilities, and the professionalism, credibility, and integrity of our staff, there is no way possible for us to be the least expensive provider.  We focus on the little things for your family, not on comparing ourselves to our competition and telling about our new facilities and cheaper prices.  We will never claim to be perfect, but you can always count on the staff at Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary to give a 110% efforts towards providing exactly what each family desires.

We know that you may have some questions.  Please feel free to give us a call at 785-282-6691 or 888-711-6691 with any questions that you may have.  We are glad to assist you in any way we can and explain our prices.

Always providing you excellent, trustworthy, honest service is what sets us apart.
